Vent alarms

High pressure, disconnects, volumes, and waveforms.

  • High pressure: bite, kink, secretions, bronchospasm, pneumothorax, low compliance.
  • Low volume: cuff leak, disconnect, extubation, circuit issue.
  • Flow-time waveform: look for incomplete exhalation/auto-PEEP.
  • Call RT early.
